Digital design of the wastewater management of the future

The challenges of the future cannot be solved with the tools of the past. This far-sighted approach is the starting point for Guldborgsund Forsyning’s rebuilding of Nykøbing Falster Wastewater Treatment Plant and is perfectly in line with our own focus on using or developing new technology for future challenges in construction.

Streamlining, increased focus on the aquatic environment and a satisfying working environment are some of the requirements for the professional wastewater management of today. This means, among other things, that daily operations must be based on remote monitoring as well as planned and preventive maintenance efforts, which entail a reduction in operating costs.

The main contractor Munck Havne & Anlæg chose CN3 to carry out the main project in relation to the building and construction contract. Through a close collaboration with the main contractor, the consultant for machine workers and installations, as well as manufacturers, CN3 has optimized the design in relation to create optimal execution methods for a new 1,000 m2 multi-building as well as a number of basins, technical structures and pumping stations.

The detailed BIM models functioned as an effective tool in relation to design coordination and to gain common insight into key issues at design meetings, which were became more effective. At the same time, the models have formed the basis for all drawing material and design coordination with suppliers, which ensures complete consistency in the final project and hence an efficient execution.
