Complete production model for pedestrian bridge

As part of the new Malmö Live Concert and Conference Center, the City of Malmö is building a new pedestrian bridge connecting the new development with the old city center. The 30-meter bridge is designed by SLA Architects and consists of a steel bridge deck and in-situ casted concrete abutments.

In close collaboration with the engineer, Centerlöf & Holmberg, CN3 developed a comprehensive LOD 400-500 production model, including reinforcement. The detailed 3D model made it possible to identify and solve a range of problems, which would have been difficult to find in the traditional 2D drawings. As these issues were addressed in the virtual construction process, the number of errors in the execution phase was reduced significantly.

Based on the reinforcement model, CN3 produced cut-and-bend schedules for ordering of rebar.
